Core Concepts

REPL Model

  • psql operates as an interactive REPL (Read-Eval-Print Loop)
  • Accepts SQL commands and meta-commands (backslash commands)

  • SQL Commands: Standard SQL statements (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, etc.)
